Who We Look For
Crystal Arcana is a local run, crystal and metaphysical sanctuary and retail store in the heart of Newtown, Sydney. We pride ourselves in having a modern, earthy aesthetic, great customer service, diverse range of crystals, books, tarot and shamanic tools, excellent crystal and spiritual knowledge as well as a fun down to earth vibe.
We are looking for someone who is also aligned with our ethos, has experience in retail, travelling the spiritual path and wanting to assist others in their journey as well. This is a whole lot more than a retail role in that you are often holding space for customers and also creating healthy boundaries to protect your energy in this space.
In addition, it is also a role full of retail tasks, admin and restocking shelves. So you will need to be a hard worker with attention to detail and able to balance both dynamics of the role. This job is not for everyone and we want to be transparent about the uniqueness and realities of the role. It is not just playing with crystals all day.
This role is a casual position with award wages. You must be flexible with days and can work 10am-6pm or 12pm to 4pm Weekends and some week days. At the moment we are mainly looking for weekend availability. Shifts can vary from 4hrs to 7.5hrs.

About The Role
The role will consist of varying tasks such as;
- Providing great instore service and using your extensive crystal and spiritual knowledge to assist customers
- Work at the shop counter processing sales through our retail POS system
- Keeping a watchful eye on customers in the shop and having the confidence to address potential theft in a professional manner
- Monitoring stock levels on the shop floor and replenishing stock
- Keeping the shop in a clean and tidy condition
- Processing new stock and assisting with pricing and entering inventory into the system
- Picking and packing online orders from our website and Instagram live sales
- Help setup Live Sales and invoice online customers
- Potential to assist with website or social media
- Assisting with various stock-takes
- Responding to customer messages and calls
- Helping with other ad-hoc tasks as the shop and roles grow and evolve

What skills and experience will you bring?
- Prior experience in Retail (Must)
- Excellent attention to detail, proactive and have a 'can-do' attitude.
- Ability to work autonomously and learn quickly
- Must be able to identify a high number crystals in the shop to process sales of tumbles and roughs (This will be tested but can also be taught)
- Can bring some knowledge within any field of spirituality (such as Crystal Healing, Shamanic Healing, Tarot, Chakras, Runes, Astrology, etc.) (Must)
- Ability to talk to customers with friendliness, confidence, patience and professionalism.
- Enjoys having a laugh and works well in a team
- Intermediate computer skills, experience with social media or website management a plus
